SCREAM MACHINE was gallant in defeat when running second to the Gai Waterhouse trained KINNERSLEY in the Park St TAB Goulburn Cup today. Consistency had earned SCREAM MACHINE a chance to step up in class, and the decision to freshen the horse for the 1600m almost paid dividends.
After racing a little keen early from a wide barrier, Kathy O'Hara was left sitting outside the leader. KINNERSLEY had an inside gate, and received a soft run behind the leaders, only to get a late split and run over the top of SCREAM MACHINE, ALMA'S FURY and ISOPACH.
The strong performance has SCREAM MACHINE heading towards the Listed Festival Stakes at Rosehill on the 8th of December. The race attracted a strong line up and the form should hold up very well in the coming weeks.
