Although defeated at Kembla Grange in the 1912 – 2012 Class 1 Handicap over 1600m, EXCITED PRINCE has started his career in good style. After a fast finishing effort at Kembla at his first race start to run 3rd, he went to Goulburn on the 2nd of October to record his first win in the Girls Day Out CG&E Maiden Plate over 1300m. The step up to 1600m was ideal, but with little luck in running, EXCITED PRINCE found himself in the stewards report on multiple occasions, most notably when disappointed for a run on straightening.

His effort to run on between runners and finish second was excellent. Robbie Brewer said "I really like him. He is still learning his trade, but next preparation I think he will develop in to a very nice horse. He feels as if 2000m will be well within his grasp as he strengthens." His three career starts have shown plenty of promise and the stable looks forward to seeing how he returns from a break next preparation.
